[align=center]Go ahead and put a link/ picture up of your 'started' or even 'finished' or maybe even 'in the middle of' cosplay. Maybe you want some advice to make it better, maybe you want some help on how to fix things. just post the picture and the question and I and others who want to will give you great tips on fixing/adding to costumes. Ok here is the material I will be making into an Ordon Shield.
Image
The corners are going to be knocked off and the front sanded to give the illusion that the shield is concave, but the back will remain flat so I can install a leather strap and wooden handle.
Image
Next up are plans for the shield(once I draft them).

Here is a quick sketch, some reference pictures, drafting supplies, and a cardboard cutout my father made as a sizing reference(the top is slightly off as we were working late after the little ones where put to bed). Here is my gallery and the main picture, a close up of the diagram and a unobstructed cardboard cutout are in the gallery.

I am debating to either to score then burn in the Ordon goat/ox and the small details ([Zelda humor]fire on a wooden shield? nooo![/Zelda humor]) or just make stencils (yay!) and spray paint all of it on. Either way I'll use a sealant or a dull varnish.

Alright, so I'm now actively searching for a wig for my Ragna cosplay (guy in my avatar & sig).
I've stumbled upon this wig and thought it to be the most likely candidate.

Image

It's $60 however though. I'm going to do a bit more searching first, but if nothing else comes up, this will be my choice.

Yeah, that's probably a better idea. ><
I've been so stressed lately that I wasn't thinking about all the options.

Alright, I've finally decided on purchasing this wig instead for Ragna.

Image

Cheaper, and it already has the basic style inherently formed into it.

After a little bit of pre-styling by Crystal.
'Looks more like the finished product will now.

Naw, probably spray.
I need to find someplace that sells fair-priced, well-fitting gloves to attach my Grimoire's to next. (Once I make said Grimoires).

Boot covers

Postby Twin A » Wed Aug 19, 2009 6:34 pm

does anyone have any ideas on how to obtain boot covers that look somewhat like these:

http://fc05.deviantart.com/fs20/f/2007/ ... Kikala.jpg

Yes, I am doing one of the twins (I mean, both, but not me by myself...) and we are looking for boot covers that look vaguely like these, but don't cost like a million dollars. We ruled out real boots, because they are A. difficult to manage, and B. expensive, as well as generally less comfortable than shoes.

Also, if anyone has ideas on wigs, I'd appreciate it!
(I could probably get my hair to do a passable "twins" style with some temporary dye, but I don't know if the one wig, one w/o wig thing would work... opinions?)
